Ghaziabad implements traffic diversions for Yogi Adityanath's visit

Police have deployed over 2,000 personnel and restricted several routes for the Chief Minister's planned rally and foot march.

Traffic diversions in Ghaziabad came into effect at 7 am on Thursday for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Raj Nagar Extension, according to Urban Acres. The Chief Minister is expected to speak at a public meeting and participate in a 1,400-metre foot march as part of the BJP’s “Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao” programme.

The restrictions affect areas near Hindon Metro station, ALT, and Rotary Gol Chakkar. Vehicle movement will be halted in both directions between Rotary Gol Chakkar and ALT, while commercial vehicles travelling from the Diamond Flyover red light towards Hapur Chungi are also barred. Additional restrictions apply to the Karhera intersection–Nagdwara–Rotary Gol Chakkar route and movement from Karan Gate and Lajpat Nagar towards Hindon Air Force Gol Chakkar.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Rajkaran Naiyyar said more than 2,000 personnel have been deployed for the event. Senior officers, including deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners of police, have been assigned to various points along the route and at the venue. BJP leaders stated that thousands of workers from western Uttar Pradesh are expected to attend.

The Ghaziabad police have declared the commissionerate area a temporary red zone and a no-drone zone. An order from the Additional Commissioner of Police prohibits the use of drones, paragliders, and hot-air balloons until midnight on November 5. Organisers and media must obtain permission for any aerial photography or videography.

Security measures include armed teams monitoring high-rise locations, alongside dog squads and bomb-disposal teams. The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has repaired three kilometres of road and deployed health department teams for sanitation work along the route. Traffic restrictions will remain until the programme ends, after which normal movement is expected to be restored.
