Green gram procurement centre opens in Chamarajanagar Santhemarahalli

The Chamarajanagara Agriculture Produce Market Committee has launched a centre to purchase produce under the government's Minimum Support Price scheme.

The Chamarajanagara Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) opened a green gram procurement centre at its Santhemarahalli subdivision office on Thursday, according to The Hindu.

The Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation in Bengaluru will procure produce that meets Fair Average Quality (FAQ) standards. The purchase rate is set at ₹8,780 per quintal.

Farmers can receive payments directly into the bank account linked to their Aadhaar card. To register, farmers must provide their FRUIT ID, a passport-size photograph, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and copies of their Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTC).

Eligibility is limited to farmers whose names are recorded as green gram cultivators in the RTC. Procurement is capped at a maximum of four quintals per acre, with an overall ceiling of 20 quintals per farmer.

Registration for the scheme will remain open for 80 days, while the procurement process will continue for 90 days.
