Integrated Bus Terminal completed at Kumedi in Indore

The ₹100 crore facility will serve as a transport hub connecting buses, metro and future railway services.

An Integrated Bus Terminal (ISBT) has been completed at Kumedi in Indore, according to Bhaskar English. The facility covers approximately 15 acres and was built at a cost of ₹100 crore.

The terminal will act as a transport hub for buses, the metro and future railway services. More than 1,500 buses are expected to operate from the site to destinations in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Initially, services to Maharashtra and Rajasthan are planned.

BVG India Limited, Pune, has been assigned the responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the terminal. The site includes 18 ticket counters, 23 shops inside the terminal for packaged food, and 12 shops outside for bus operators' offices.

The facility features 33 IT offices on the first floor, which are connected to a food zone via a glass bridge. The food zone contains 16 restaurants, including four large units of 1,800 square feet and 12 smaller units of 450 square feet.

Security at the ISBT includes more than 225 CCTV cameras. Other amenities include a VIP lounge, ATMs, courier services, and basement parking for 400 vehicles.

A separate building near the bus parking area provides lodging, sleeping and dining options for over 50 bus drivers and conductors for a nominal fee.
