Visakhapatnam MP urges corporators to focus on public service

MP M. Sribharat told newly elected NDA representatives to prioritise ward development and work with municipal officials to resolve local issues.

Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat on Thursday told newly elected corporators from the NDA parties in the Visakhapatnam North Assembly constituency to prioritise public service and work sincerely for ward development, according to The Hindu.

Speaking at a felicitation programme in the city, Sribharat said the mandate brings greater responsibility. He stated that corporators should stay accessible to citizens and collaborate with Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials to address issues regarding drainage, roads, sanitation, and drinking water.

Sribharat noted that the alliance's victory resulted from coordination and unity between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and the Jana Sena Party (JSP) regarding candidate selection and seat-sharing.

He commended Visakhapatnam North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju for choosing candidates based on their strengths. Sribharat also advised elected representatives to avoid unrealistic promises and fulfil their campaign assurances, warning against complacency.

The MP expressed hope that the three parties would continue working together for the progress of Visakhapatnam and Andhra Pradesh. The event was attended by Mayor Mukka Sravani, Jana Sena Party constituency in-charge P. Usha Kiran, and P.

Vishnu Kumar Raju.
