UPSC declares Civil Services (Main) 2026 results

A total of 2,526 candidates have qualified for the personality test following the main examination held in August.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the Civil Services (Main) examination 2026 on Thursday, November 5, according to Deccan Herald. A total of 2,526 candidates have qualified to move forward to the personality test stage.

The main examination took place between August 21 and August 30. This annual recruitment process involves three stages—preliminary, main, and interview—to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other services.

Successful candidates must present original documents to verify their eligibility and any reservation claims. These include certificates for age, education, community, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). Those seeking benefits for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD, or ex-servicemen must provide certificates issued by the preliminary examination application deadline of February 27, 2026.

The personality tests will be conducted at the UPSC office at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi. While the specific dates for these interviews are yet to be announced, e-summon letters will be posted on upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in.

The commission stated that no physical summons will be sent and that requests to alter the scheduled interview time or date will generally not be accepted. Marksheets will be uploaded to the official website within 15 days of the final results being declared after the interviews, where they will stay for 30 days.
