India-Sri Lanka first ODI moved from Delhi to Visakhapatnam

The venue change follows a request from the DDCA citing weather concerns and stadium renovation work.

The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled for December 13, has been moved from Delhi to the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, according to reports by The Economic Times and The Hindu.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the change on Thursday. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) requested the shift due to potential weather disruptions and proposed renovation work at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The Hindu reported that the outfield at the stadium is currently dug up as part of a plan to switch to a sand-based outfield, with the DDCA expecting the venue to be ready for the next IPL.

The three-match ODI series will continue with the second match in Bengaluru on December 16 and the final match in Ahmedabad on December 19. Both games are set to start at 2 pm.

A three-match T20I series will follow the ODIs. These matches are scheduled for December 22 in Rajkot, December 24 in Cuttack, and December 27 in Pune, with all three starting at 7 pm.
