Delhi Traffic Police issues advisory for Anand Vihar ISBT festive rush

Special traffic arrangements will be in place from November 5 to November 11 to manage increased passenger movement during the Diwali season.

The Delhi Traffic Police has announced special traffic arrangements around the Anand Vihar Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) from November 5 to November 11. According to a Business Today report, the measures are intended to manage the expected rise in passenger movement during the festive period.

The advisory states that heavy passenger movement is anticipated at the ISBT, nearby railway stations, and adjacent transport hubs. Commuters are advised to plan journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid congestion.

Key roads expected to be affected include Road No. 56, also called Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg, and Road No. 57, known as Swami Dayanand Marg. Motorists heading towards National Highway 24 (NH-24) should use the Delhi-Karol Bagh–Barapullah route or the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway via GT Road.

Those travelling to Dilshad Garden and Ghaziabad are advised to take the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway near Akshardham via GT Road. This is to help avoid congestion near the ISBT.

Parking of all vehicle types, including private cars, taxis, buses, and transport vehicles, will be prohibited on both sides of Road No. 56. These restrictions will apply near the ISBT entry and exit gates and nearby approach roads.

Private vehicle owners should use designated parking facilities on Kaushambi Road, near Anand Vihar, or near the Maharaj Showroom. Authorities warned that leaving vehicles unattended on approach roads or carriageways could obstruct traffic and lead to legal action.
