Hardik Pandya set to join Punjab Kings in Arshdeep Singh trade deal
Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings have reportedly agreed to a player swap ahead of the IPL 2027 season.
Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings are set to complete a high-profile player trade involving all-rounder Hardik Pandya and pacer Arshdeep Singh, according to reports from Business Today and The Tribune.
The deal involves Pandya moving to Punjab Kings while Arshdeep Singh joins Mumbai Indians. The trade requires ratification from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to become official.
An IPL source told Business Today that the trade has been completed and that Pandya is comfortable playing under Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer. The decision was reportedly backed by the Punjab Kings captain and coach.
The Tribune reported that both franchises have submitted expressions of interest to the IPL. The next step involves obtaining written consent from the two players, which is expected within 24 hours.
Pandya's move ends his second stint with Mumbai Indians, where he served as captain starting in the 2024 season. He has not played competitive cricket since the previous IPL season due to injuries, including a right shin bone stress response.
Arshdeep Singh has been with Punjab Kings since his IPL debut in 2019, taking 111 wickets in 96 matches. Mint reported that the IPL 2027 mini-auction is scheduled for December 16 in Goa.
