Thousands of drones light up Connaught Place for Delhi Diwali show
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the two-day Jagmag Diwali festival at Central Park on Friday.
Thousands of drones depicted images of Lord Ram, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha over Connaught Place on Friday evening. According to The Pioneer, the aerial display was part of the 'Delhi Ki Diwali: Sabse Nirali, Milkar Manane Wali' event, which opened at Central Park to mark Dhanteras.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta formally launched the two-day Jagmag Diwali festival. She stated that the celebration reflected the idea of a clean and green Diwali and expressed confidence that Delhi would move towards new heights of development.
The event included a Maha Aarti dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and a musical performance by the Keshavam group’s Bhajan Clubbing. Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said the government is hosting the celebration on a large scale for the second year in a row to bring residents together around the capital's cultural identity.
Mishra noted that the festivities aim to replace the recent negative atmosphere around Connaught Place with positivity. He added that the government is partnering with market associations and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to host these celebrations.
The programme will continue on Saturday at Central Park. The second day is scheduled to feature another mega drone show, cultural performances, and a rangoli competition using eco-friendly materials.
