Swiss pair wins WTA 250 Chennai Open women's doubles title

Simona Waltert and Naima Karamoko defeated India's Vaishnavi Adkar and Rutuja Bhosale in the final on Sunday.

Simona Waltert and Naima Karamoko won the women's doubles title at the WTA 250 Chennai Open on Sunday, defeating the Indian pair of Vaishnavi Adkar and Rutuja Bhosale 6-2, 6-0, according to ThePrint.

The Swiss combination dominated the final in Chennai, with Karamoko playing at the net and Waltert providing support from the baseline.

The Indian pair struggled with unforced errors and failed to convert crucial points during the match.

After an aggressive start by the Swiss players, the Indian duo managed to break Waltert's serve in the fifth game to get on the scoreboard, but the Swiss pair maintained control to win the first set.

In the second set, Bhosale lost her serve early following a double fault and errors, while Adkar also lost her serve after a double fault.

Despite the loss, Adkar and Bhosale became the first all-Indian pair to reach a WTA Tour-level doubles final.
