Barcelona face Atletico Madrid in La Liga top-of-the-table clash
Leaders Barcelona travel to the Metropolitano Stadium to defend their top spot against second-placed Atletico Madrid on Monday.
Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid on Monday, November 9. According to Outlook, the La Liga match is scheduled to start at 1:30 AM IST.
Barcelona currently lead the league with 30 points from 11 matches, while Atletico Madrid sit in second place with 28 points. Atletico Madrid have won seven consecutive league matches and have conceded only eight goals this season.
The home side has won nine of its 11 league matches, despite a recent 2-0 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich. Atletico Madrid have not beaten Barcelona in La Liga since December 2024, though they knocked the Catalans out of Europe last season.
Barcelona enter the fixture as the league's top scorers with 46 goals in 11 domestic games. The team has remained unbeaten in away La Liga matches against Atletico Madrid since October 2021.
Selection issues affect both sides. Atletico Madrid will be without Cristian Romero and Johnny Cardoso, though Morten Hjulmand returns, while Lee Kang-in is expected to start with Julian Alvarez. Barcelona are missing Dani Olmo, Roony Bardghji, Xavi Espart, and Rodri, with Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde, and Andreas Christensen undergoing fitness checks.
The match will not be telecast live on TV in India as there are no broadcasters for La Liga matches. Fans can stream the game exclusively on the FanCode app and website.
