The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau caught the Mandal Agriculture Officer red-handed while he was accepting money to facilitate a fertiliser business.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Mandal Agriculture Officer (MAO) G. Ramesh in Sangareddy district on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. According to The Hindu, Ramesh was caught in his office in Sadasivpet mandal while allegedly accepting a bribe.

The officer is accused of demanding and accepting ₹20,000 from a complainant. The bribe was reportedly requested to ensure the smooth functioning of a fertiliser business operated by the complainant’s son-in-law.

The ACB stated that Ramesh had allegedly demanded a total bribe of ₹30,000. He had previously received ₹10,000 on October 19, while the remaining ₹20,000 was recovered from his possession on Tuesday.

The ACB said the officer performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage. Ramesh will be produced before the II Additional Special Judge for Trial of SPE and ACB Cases Court in Hyderabad.

The case is currently under investigation.
