Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy instructed irrigation officials to share documents and prepare details regarding land submergence areas.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed irrigation department officials to maintain dialogue with the Maharashtra government regarding the proposed Tummidihetti barrage construction, according to reports by The Pioneer, Deccan Chronicle and The News Mill.
During a review meeting at his Jubilee Hills residence on Tuesday, the Chief Minister, alongside Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, directed officials to be ready with comprehensive data on areas that may be submerged.
Revanth Reddy told officials to exchange all relevant documents, including previously finalised agreements, with the Maharashtra government to move the process forward.
The Chief Minister stated that the Telangana government is willing to pay fair compensation for any land in Maharashtra affected by the project. He added that the state is prepared to put necessary money into a joint account held by both state governments.
Revanth Reddy noted that Telangana has no objection to Maharashtra officials performing a survey to assess potential land submergence. He ordered officials to provide any information requested by Maharashtra in a timely manner.
The meeting included Irrigation Advisor Adityanath Das, Secretary to the Irrigation Department Sridhar, Engineer-in-Chief Irrigation Ramesh, and other senior officials.
