ABVP holds protest march at Delhi University against anarchy
The student organisation held a demonstration under the slogan ‘End Anarchy, Save Democracy’ involving thousands of participants.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a large protest march at Delhi University on Wednesday under the slogan ‘End Anarchy, Save Democracy’, according to India Today.
Thousands of students took part in the demonstration, with the organisation stating that participants had travelled from various parts of the country to join the march in Delhi.
The ABVP accused the Congress and Left-wing parties of fostering an atmosphere of anarchy and demonstrating a lack of faith in the Constitution and democracy.
ABVP National General Secretary Dr Virendra Solanki told Aaj Tak that the protest targeted the anti-democratic actions of the Congress and Left-wing parties.
Solanki noted that similar demonstrations had been held at universities nationwide and said the organisation intends to conduct more protests at state and central universities.
The march occurs alongside a broader political campaign by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) using the same slogan, which has seen participation from leaders such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Nitin Navin.
