Goa to use artificial intelligence for government schemes and welfare
The state government has partnered with Modern Data Company to implement the DataOS platform across various public service sectors.
The Goa government plans to use artificial intelligence to advance its ‘Swayampurna Goa’ vision for citizen welfare and governance, according to BusinessLine.
The state has entered into an agreement with enterprise software provider Modern Data Company to use its DataOS platform to assist government departments in making decisions regarding healthcare, education, tourism, and public service delivery.
Potential applications include identifying households that have not yet received benefits, tracking scheme coverage at the panchayat level, and flagging students requiring academic support.
In the tourism sector, authorities may use visitor-footfall forecasts for crowd management and safety, while healthcare applications could focus on early disease detection and medicine demand forecasting.
Sanjoy Roy, Vice President for APAC, Middle East & EU at The Modern Data Company, said the partnership aims to help the government identify service delivery gaps and better comprehend the needs of citizens.
The first phase involves identifying a priority use case, with the goal of making one selected application live by February or March 2027, depending on departmental approvals and readiness.
