Selection process for next TTD Chairman begins as board term ends
The ruling alliance is considering several names for the post as the current Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams board completes its term.
The selection of the next Chairman for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board has become a focus as the current board's term has ended, according to The Hindu.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to make the final decision following consultations with the ruling coalition, which includes the TDP, the Jana Sena Party and the BJP.
Several names are being discussed for the position, including senior TDP leaders Jyothula Nehru and Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao, outgoing Chairman B.R. Naidu, industrialist C.M. Ravi Sankar and NRI industrialist Srinivasa Ramanujam.
The outgoing board, headed by B.R. Naidu, completed its two-year term on October 31.
The process of forming the new board is expected to involve negotiations regarding representation for the three alliance partners and nominees from states such as Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
The government is expected to take up the exercise once the election process for local bodies is completed, as the Model Code of Conduct has reportedly delayed the constitution of the new board.
