Telangana Cabinet to prioritise Global Summit during drought concerns
The meeting scheduled for Thursday focuses on the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 despite ongoing water and power crises.
The Telangana Cabinet is set to meet at the Secretariat on Thursday to discuss preparations for the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will lead the formal session at 4 pm, following a 3 pm meeting with ministers. According to reports from Urban Acres and Telangana Today, the summit is a primary focus of the discussions.
The meeting comes as the state faces drought conditions that affect drinking water, agriculture, and rural livelihoods. While officials stated that water and power issues will be addressed, the available agenda does not specifically list drought relief measures. The government has previously held an all-party meeting on these matters, but a dedicated Cabinet meeting for the crisis has not been convened.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviewed the proposed agenda with senior officials on Tuesday. The session is expected to cover several administrative topics, including budget allocations, new projects, and the progress of welfare schemes. The Cabinet will also look into recruitment and filling vacancies within government departments.
Other items on the agenda include draft Bills and proposals for land allotment to support industrial projects. The government aims to attract new investment through the upcoming summit, which requires coordination across various departments to prepare proposals for potential investors.
