Amit Shah is unaware of Telangana political realities, says Congress MP
Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that the BJP's electoral prospects in the state are being exaggerated.
Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday criticised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for claiming the BJP is set to take power in Telangana, according to The Hindu.
The Bhuvanagiri MP stated that Mr Shah seemed to lack information regarding the political landscape of the state. He suggested the BJP leadership should abandon its goals of winning power in Telangana.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that the BJP's performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections was primarily due to votes being transferred from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He claimed the BRS had attempted to stop the Congress from gaining power at the Centre.
The MP questioned how the BJP secured leads in the Gajwel, Siddipet, and Sircilla constituencies during the parliamentary elections, noting the party failed to win these same Assembly segments in the 2023 elections.
He said the Union Home Minister should show political maturity and concentrate on the development of Telangana instead of making ambitious electoral claims.
