White House remains defiant despite Democratic gains in US midterms

A White House official blamed Republican candidate quality for potential losses and warned Democrats to buckle up.

The White House expressed a defiant mood on Tuesday despite Democrats making early electoral gains in the US midterm elections, according to The New Indian Express.

A White House official told AFP that the administration remained defiant even as Democrats appeared likely to secure a setback that could impact the president's final two years in power.

The official questioned the quality of Republican candidates for the House and Senate, noting that many had received endorsements and rally support from President Donald Trump.

The official stated that President Trump did a better job promoting many candidates on the ballot than the candidates did themselves.

Addressing the election results, the official said anyone voting Democrat would face buyer's remorse once gas prices drop following the resolution of the Iran conflict.

The official added that President Trump's resolve to stop the Radical Left would strengthen regardless of the outcome and told Democrats to buckle up.

President Trump had previously expressed frustration on social media regarding Fox News coverage and told CBS in a telephone interview that he would be "Mr Veto" to block Democratic legislation if they win.
