Punjab CM alleges BJP directs central agencies to raid AAP leaders

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the raids at the residence of AAP MLA Amandeep Kaur are part of a political vendetta.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday alleged that the BJP-led Union government is using central agencies as political weapons to target opposition leaders. According to ThePrint, Mann made these remarks following raids by central agencies at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amandeep Kaur.

Mann claimed the agencies are being directed by the BJP to suppress dissent and settle political scores. He stated that the raids would not deter his government from working for the people of the state or derail the development agenda.

The Chief Minister asserted that the agencies would find nothing against AAP leaders who have been serving the public with honesty. He said that intimidation and political conspiracies cannot distract the government from fulfilling its promises to Punjabis.

Addressing other matters, Mann said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other political leaders are free to organise rallies as part of their democratic rights. He also noted that the announcement of 40 AAP candidates for the 2027 assembly polls is part of an ongoing organisational process.

Mann highlighted various government initiatives, including the development of more than 2,000 playgrounds and the use of the Seechewal Model for cleaning drains. He also mentioned that farmers in the state are now receiving electricity during morning hours.
