Search operations continue for five remaining fishermen after their boat capsized during Cyclone Murasu.
Four fishermen from Tamil Nadu who disappeared after their boat overturned near the Andhra Pradesh coast have been found dead, according to reports by Telegraph India on Thursday.
Prakasam District Collector P Raja Babu stated that three of the recovered bodies washed up at Kothapatnam, while a fourth was located during search efforts.
The deceased are being moved to the Government General Hospital (GGH) mortuary in the area.
The incident occurred when nine fishermen, who had been anchored at Nizampatnam Port, attempted to sail to Ramayapatnam Port on November 3 without notifying authorities.
The boat was hit by strong winds from Cyclone Murasu and capsized while in transit, Babu said.
The Tamil Nadu government has shared the identities and photographs of the nine fishermen with officials.
While four bodies have been retrieved, search operations are ongoing to locate the five fishermen who remain missing.
The Collector confirmed that the recovered remains will be handed over to Tamil Nadu officials once all formalities are completed.
