Ramban District Magistrate implements one-way traffic for commercial vehicles

The new traffic regulations in Ramban town aim to reduce congestion and improve public safety for passenger and load carriers.

Ramban District Magistrate Mohammad Alyas Khan has introduced a one-way traffic system for load carriers and commercial passenger vehicles in Ramban town, according to the Daily Excelsior.

The order, issued on Thursday, applies to vehicles such as buses, mini-buses, Sumos, and Ecos entering or exiting the town. The measure is intended to manage traffic flow and prevent congestion in areas including T-Chowk, Bowli Bazar, and the Bus Stand.

Under the new rules, vehicles must enter the town from Shan Palace Naka and travel through Bowli Bazar, T-Chowk, the Bus Stand, and Cafeteria Chowk. The Cafeteria Chowk end will act solely as an exit point, meaning commercial vehicles cannot access the bus stand from that side.

The restrictions, issued under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, prohibit the loading and unloading of goods vehicles in the specified stretches between 8 am and 8 pm. The order is effective immediately and will last for two months or until further notice.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic (NHW), and Assistant Regional Transport Officer have been instructed to enforce the rules strictly. The administration will publicise the order through social, electronic, and print media.
