Maatrubhumi trailer cleared by censor board after months of delay
Producers are now targeting a release in late November or December after the film received a UA 16+ certificate.
The official trailer for the Salman Khan-starrer Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace received clearance from the Censor Board on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, according to a report by India Today.
The trailer, which has a runtime of 4 minutes and 43 seconds, was granted a UA 16+ certificate. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and features Chitrangada Singh in a crucial role.
The producers are evaluating a new release schedule for either November 20 or December 11, as the previously expected November 6 arrival appears improbable. Jio Studios is handling the all-India theatrical distribution.
Based on the 2020 military standoff between India and China, the film was initially announced as Battle Of Galwan. It previously faced clearance hurdles regarding its thematic content and references to China before receiving government clearance.
Salman Khan portrays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who led Indian troops during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. The film also features Mukesh Rishi, Ankur Bhatia, Zeyn Shaw, and Abhilash Chaudhary.
Vijay Raaz provides the voice for the narrator. An official announcement regarding the revised theatrical date is expected shortly.
