Odisha has secured investment proposals worth approximately Rs 1,17,557 crore during the summit held at Bharat Mandapam.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo (Bharat RE) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Monday, according to The Tribune. The four-day event, running from November 2 to 5, aims to strengthen India's position as a global hub for clean energy manufacturing, technology, and investment.
The summit is expected to host participants from more than 130 countries, including over 40 ministers and various industry leaders. Country Partners for the event include Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
During the summit, Odisha signed 18 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to receive approximately Rs 1,17,557 crore in investment proposals, Kalinga TV reported. These projects are expected to add about 11,742 MW of electricity generation capacity to the state's renewable energy sector.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said the investment marks a watershed moment for the state. He noted that Odisha aims to meet 74 per cent of its total installed power capacity through non-fossil fuel sources by 2047.
The summit will be held alongside the ninth International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the fourth International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH). The accompanying expo will feature more than 400 exhibitors showcasing technologies in solar, wind, and energy storage.
The event will include ministerial discussions, CEO roundtables, and sessions to facilitate business-to-government and government-to-government engagements.
