Rajasthan government suspends Goyal Fashions incentives during ACB probe
The state has halted a customised investment package for the company pending a preliminary investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The Rajasthan government has suspended the investment package granted to M/s Goyal Fashions Private Limited, according to ANI. The decision comes as the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducts a preliminary inquiry into the matter.
The benefits were originally approved under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS). The suspension follows the intervention of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma after the issue was brought to his attention.
The State Level Scrutiny Committee of the Department of Industries and Commerce reviewed the case and ordered the halt. Consequently, the Commissioner of Industries and Commerce issued orders to stop the disbursement of all sanctioned incentives and exemptions to the firm until the ACB completes its proceedings.
The state government stated it remains committed to industrial growth but must ensure public resources and concessions are used with transparency and accountability. The government noted that such use must strictly follow established rules.
Separately, Chief Minister Sharma flagged off a run in Jaipur on October 31 to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The event commemorated the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore also participated in the run. Rathore said that Patel's integration of princely states created an organised India and noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards the goal of a 'Viksit Bharat'.
