PM Modi calls Sharad Pawar to advise rest after hospital discharge
The Prime Minister suggested the NCP (SP) chief prioritise his health and diet following his release from a Pune hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar over the phone on Wednesday to enquire about his well-being. According to reports by Hindustan Times, ThePrint and Deccan Chronicle, the conversation occurred as the 85-year-old leader was being released from a hospital in Pune.
Pawar was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic on November 2 after experiencing a cough and pleuritic chest pain. He was discharged on Wednesday after undergoing medical observation and evaluation, with hospital officials stating he is stable and doing well.
Pawar's aide, Vitthal Maniyar, said the Prime Minister advised the leader to reduce travel, focus on his diet, and get adequate rest. Maniyar added that Modi suggested Baramati MP Supriya Sule could manage responsibilities while Pawar recovers.
Maniyar also noted that Pawar thanked the Prime Minister for his concern and stated he was not worried about national affairs as others were available to manage things. Supriya Sule had previously mentioned that Pawar's health parameters remained stable during his medical tests.
The Prime Minister is expected to visit Baramati later this month to inaugurate the Prerna Sthal museum complex at the Vidya Pratishthan campus. While a visit on November 3 was postponed, Vidya Pratishthan trustee Yugendra Pawar indicated November 16 as a possible date, though no official confirmation has been made.
