Stalin visited the Periyar Arivulagam study centre in Coimbatore and called for increased reading to aid state progress.
DMK president and former Chief Minister MK Stalin visited the Periyar Arivulagam in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore, on Wednesday, according to reports by ANI and The Hindu.
During the visit, Stalin encouraged students and young people to utilise libraries and read books to gain knowledge and contribute to the progress of Tamil Nadu.
He stated that youngsters should use the facility to learn about the principles of the Dravidian movement and the ideals of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy.
Stalin noted that the Periyar Arivulagam project was nearly 99 per cent complete during his previous regime and remarked that the facility might have faced closure under the current government.
The leader also laid the foundation stone for a new integrated DMK district headquarters at Nilambur on a 50-cent plot.
The proposed three-storey building is planned to house a marriage hall on the ground level, a dining area on the first floor, and a conference hall alongside the district office on the third floor.
