The disciplinary action follows the failure of the functionaries to attend the mandatory Chalo Delhi mobilisation programme.
The Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress has suspended 13 functionaries for failing to attend the Congress-led Chalo Delhi rally, according to ANI.
State Youth Congress General Secretary Aryan Chauhan said on Thursday in Shimla that the members were informed in advance that participation in the rally was mandatory.
Chauhan stated that the individuals did not provide convincing reasons, such as medical emergencies, for their absence.
The General Secretary alleged that the functionaries had been inactive for a long time and had missed various protests, meetings, and organisational programmes over recent months.
The decision for the suspension was made by the national leadership of the Youth Congress after talking with the state leadership.
Chauhan noted that while the matter is being handled by the national leadership, no permanent decision has been taken and further discussions will follow.
