Yogi Adityanath to lead Save Democracy march in Ghaziabad on Thursday
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister criticised the Congress and the INDIA bloc for allegedly attempting to create disorder and weaken democratic institutions.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in a foot march titled ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ in Ghaziabad on Thursday, according to The Indian Express.
The event aims to highlight the importance of constitutional conduct, democratic values, and respect for the public mandate. The march is expected to include BJP leaders, workers, and supporters.
Ahead of the march, Adityanath criticised the Congress and the INDIA bloc, stating that voters have consistently rejected the opposition alliance in national elections. He alleged that these parties are trying to cause instability and weaken democratic institutions despite their electoral rejections.
Adityanath said that democracy relies on the faith of citizens, constitutional propriety, and respect for the people's mandate. He claimed the opposition is pursuing instability and confusion rather than engaging in constructive politics.
The Chief Minister stated that the march intends to convey a message of protecting democracy and the supremacy of the people's will. He added that BJP workers remain dedicated to protecting democratic traditions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Party sources said the programme is part of a broader campaign to counter the narrative of the opposition regarding democratic institutions. Adityanath said his government will continue to raise awareness about what he described as the anti-democratic conduct of the opposition.
