BJP delegation meets President over Kerala PSC irregularities
The party requested action on a recommendation to remove the State Public Service Commission Chairman and members.
A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation met President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Thursday, November 5, 2026, to discuss alleged irregularities in the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC).
According to The Hindu, the delegation requested the President to act on a recommendation made by former Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The recommendation seeks the removal of KPSC Chairman M.R. Baiju and other commission members.
The delegation included Rajya Sabha member (nominated) C. Sadanandan Master, State BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, and Rajya Sabha member (nominated) P.T. Usha.
A memorandum submitted to the President stated that the Governor had already sent a recommendation following investigative findings regarding recruitment issues.
During a press conference, Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticised the Congress party and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He claimed the Congress raised fabricated concerns regarding youth issues while failing to address the situation in Kerala.
Chandrasekhar alleged that the KPSC has been captured by vested interests, such as the SFI within the CPI(M) ecosystem. He stated that Malayali youth have been protesting and striking for several months because they were denied jobs despite securing ranks due to maladministration.
The BJP leader further claimed that rank holders have been protesting outside the Secretariat for months with the knowledge of the Congress Chief Minister.
