Odisha: IAS officer alleges BJP MLA threatened him during flood duty
Samir Kumar Jena filed a police complaint against Asika MLA Saroj Padhi following an alleged verbal altercation in Ganjam.
A 2022-batch IAS officer, Samir Kumar Jena, filed a police complaint against BJP MLA Saroj Padhi on Thursday, alleging the legislator misbehaved and threatened him. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday while Jena was deployed on flood management duty in the Asika area, according to The Indian Express.
Jena, who is currently the chief development officer-cum-executive officer of the Ganjam zilla parishad, alleged that Padhi entered his chamber and shouted at him regarding the distribution of relief materials. The officer claimed that Padhi used unparliamentary language and threatened to kill him.
The complainant stated that he tried to explain that relief materials were arranged by Minister Bibhuti Jena and distributed as instructed. Jena noted in his complaint that the incident was captured on CCTV and said he is
highly demoralised and in deep mental shock.
