CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad complete four-player trade ahead of IPL 2027
Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards move to Chennai while Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis join Hyderabad.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have completed a four-player trade ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 season, according to reports from Firstpost, The Indian Express and The Pioneer.
England all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards will move to CSK. Livingstone joins at a revised fee of Rs 6 crore, down from the Rs 13 crore originally paid by SRH. Edwards moves to Chennai at his existing fee of Rs 3 crore.
In the exchange, SRH will acquire left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis. Khaleel joins at his existing fee of Rs 4.8 crore, while Ellis moves at his existing fee of Rs 2 crore.
Khaleel previously represented SRH from 2018 to 2021 before joining CSK. He claimed 15 wickets in 14 matches during the IPL 2025 season but was ruled out of the 2026 season with a right quadriceps injury.
Edwards was signed by SRH before his international debut but missed the IPL 2026 season due to a foot injury. Ellis also missed the 2026 season following a hamstring injury.
The IPL confirmed the trade in a statement, noting the movement of the four players between the two franchises.
