BJP to observe Tribal Pride Week from November 11 to 18

The party will hold programmes to mark the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on 15 November.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe Tribal Pride Week from November 11 to 18 to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, according to reports by Daily Excelsior and Bhaskar English.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the party organised a workshop to plan the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas Abhiyan. J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma announced that the main programme will be held on 15 November, focusing on tribal identity, culture, traditions, and contributions to the freedom struggle.

In Madhya Pradesh, the party plans to reach remote villages to discuss the history of tribal communities and the welfare schemes provided by central and state governments. The campaign will also highlight the rise of President Droupadi Murmu to the highest constitutional office.

BJP national general secretary Gajendra Patel alleged that the Congress is attempting to distance tribal society from Sanatan traditions. Patel claimed that the Congress is creating uncertainty regarding the cultural identity of tribal communities by suggesting they are separate from mainstream Indian traditions.

During the Jammu and Kashmir workshop, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana said the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is honouring the contributions of Birsa Munda through policies that empower tribal communities. ST Morcha president Choudhary Abdul Ghani added that Birsa Munda's life should inspire the younger generation to work for the nation.
