Amit Shah targets Punjab politics during Ambala visit

The Union Home Minister suggested Punjab farmers should elect a BJP government to benefit from Minimum Support Price procurement.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public gathering at Gandhi Ground in Ambala Cantonment on Friday after inaugurating the Shaheed Smarak. The memorial was built to commemorate the unsung heroes of the 1857 Revolt, according to The Tribune.

During his visit, Shah also inaugurated the Ambala-Jalbehra-Shahabad section of NH-152G. He stated that the First War of Independence began from Ambala Cantonment in 1857 and noted that hundreds of known and unknown martyrs sacrificed everything over the following 90 years.

Shah praised Haryana's sportspersons for winning international medals and lauded the state government for establishing its first AYUSH University. He also mentioned the procurement of 24 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the implementation of various welfare schemes.

Taking a political swipe, Shah said that farmers in Punjab should elect a BJP government if they wanted to benefit from MSP procurement. He asserted that the BJP government would fulfil all promises made in its election manifesto.
