Sonia Gandhi's Babri mosque comment exposes Congress's anti-Ram face, says BJP

BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi criticised Sonia Gandhi for her remarks regarding the demolition of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya.

The BJP on Saturday criticised Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for stating that she cried while witnessing the demolition of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya, according to The Times of India.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said the statement has exposed the "anti-Ram" face of the Congress party. He claimed that while Mahatma Gandhi had the conception of Ram Rajya, the Congress has now limited its memory to Babar.

Trivedi accused the Congress of being double-faced, noting that Rajiv Gandhi had promised 'Ram Rajya' during his 1989 election campaign in Ayodhya. He said Sonia Gandhi is now remembered for crying at the demolition of the Babri mosque and the Batla House encounter.

The BJP leader also objected to the reference to the Babri mosque, claiming it was legally considered disputed. He questioned how she viewed visuals of the demolition on that day, noting that Indian media did not show it and the BBC broadcast it much later.

Trivedi further stated that Sonia Gandhi's sympathies are with the residents of Gaza. He alleged she did not cry at the targeting of Hindus in Kashmir in 1990 or in Pakistan and Bangladesh after the Babri incident.
