Ashok Gehlot congratulates new Rajasthan Youth Congress president Abhishek Chaudhary

The former Chief Minister called Chaudhary a rising star after his record-breaking election victory in the organisational polls.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met the newly elected Rajasthan Youth Congress president Abhishek Chaudhary on Thursday. According to reports from ANI and The News Mill, Gehlot described Chaudhary as a rising star in politics and congratulated him on his election.

Chaudhary secured the presidency with 6.15 lakh votes, which Gehlot noted is the highest number of votes won by a president in the history of the country's organisational elections. Bhaskar English reported that Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanu Chib issued the appointment orders on Thursday.

Gehlot praised Chaudhary for his resilience and popularity, stating that the leader achieved success despite coming from an ordinary background. The new executive committee is set to serve a three-year term.

Earlier on Thursday, Gehlot also addressed allegations made by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. Gehlot criticised Sharma for claiming that he had cheated farmers by selling fake agricultural inputs during his early business years.

In a post on X, Gehlot called the accusations false and fabricated. He noted that he had operated a fertiliser-seed shop in Peepaar for only six months and was a student at Jodhpur University during the time Sharma was only five years old.

Gehlot stated that he had given the Chief Minister 24 hours to express regret for the personal remarks but received no response. He added that political differences should not prevent leaders from verifying facts before making serious claims.
