Tejashwi Yadav criticises PM Modi ahead of Bihar visit

The Rashtriya Janata Dal leader alleged that the central government has provided insufficient support to the state regarding flood aid.

Rashtrashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, ahead of the Prime Minister's visit to Bihar. According to reports by ANI and The News Mill, Yadav alleged that the central government has failed to provide adequate assistance to the state.

Yadav claimed that despite a significant mandate from the people of Bihar, the state is treated like "stepchildren" when aid is required. He stated that the state did not receive a special package for floods and noted that the Bihar government's coffers are empty.

The RJD leader also commented on the "double-engine" government, alleging that one part is driven by crime and the other by corruption, leading to an atmosphere of anarchy. He suggested that the Prime Minister would use empty rhetoric during his visit.

Citing NITI Aayog reports, Yadav asserted that Bihar continues to rank at the bottom in sectors such as healthcare and education. He stated that there has been no improvement in these areas despite the current government being in power consistently.

Yadav also targeted Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary regarding the law and order situation. He questioned the Chief Minister's response to crime and remarked that the state is being made a laughing stock.
