Yogi Adityanath to join Ghaziabad march to protect democracy
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister accused the Congress and INDIA bloc of attempting to cause instability and disorder in the country.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in a foot march titled ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ in Ghaziabad on November 5, according to reports by Mint and The Indian Express.
Adityanath accused the Congress and the INDIA bloc of trying to push Indian democracy toward instability and disorder. He stated that the public has consistently rejected the opposition alliance in elections.
The Chief Minister said the march aims to promote the importance of constitutional norms and the authority of the people's mandate. He added that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers are dedicated to preserving democratic values under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In Bihar, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav also addressed a ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ march in Darbhanga on Thursday, according to ANI.
Yadav criticised the INDIA bloc for questioning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He alleged that the opposition only raises objections to the process in areas where they lose elections.
The Union Minister explained that the SIR is a necessary exercise to update voter lists by removing names of deceased persons or those who have relocated. He noted that this is the ninth time such a revision has been conducted since 1950.
