Internal friction grows in Telangana Congress as leaders clash over funds and posts

Ministers, MPs, and MLAs have expressed public dissatisfaction regarding fund allocations, organisational appointments, and disciplinary actions.

Internal differences within the ruling Congress in Telangana are becoming public as the government nears three years in office, according to The Times of India. Various party members, including ministers and legislators, have raised concerns regarding the allocation of funds, delays in clearing bills, and organisational appointments.

Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy criticised irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, alleging that funds are being diverted to the Huzurnagar and Kodad constituencies while Munugode is neglected. Similarly, Jadcherla MLA J Anirudh Reddy accused deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka of delaying payments for development works. Reddy threatened an indefinite hunger strike involving thousands if pending bills worth nearly Rs 40 crore are not cleared.

Peddapalli MP G Vamshi Krishna questioned IT minister D Sridhar Babu regarding his absence from a rally in New Delhi. Vamshi Krishna also raised concerns about the suspension of a tribal woman leader and other workers, alleging that disciplinary action was taken without issuing notices. He stated that he is being sidelined in official programmes and that protocol is not being followed.

In Delhi, health minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha and Jukkal MLA T Laxmi Kantha Rao reportedly had a disagreement at a hotel. The dispute allegedly concerned the appointment of the Sangareddy District Congress Committee president and other positions. Supporters of Sridhar Babu stated the minister and two MLAs missed the Delhi rally due to a pre-scheduled puja at his residence.

Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud said the party leadership will speak to every leader, MP, MLA, and minister to resolve these differences.
