Tamil Nadu Finance Minister defends CM Vijay over media interactions

Finance Minister N Marie Wilson responded to allegations regarding the Chief Minister's communication style and mocked the DMK for hypocrisy.

Tamil Nadu Finance Minister N Marie Wilson defended Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay against allegations of avoiding the media on Monday. Speaking to reporters in Coimbatore on November 4, Wilson stated that the Chief Minister cannot be compelled to hold press interactions.

According to Outlook, Wilson asserted that the Chief Minister knows precisely when and where to speak. He said it is the Chief Minister's decision regarding when to talk to the press.

The remarks follow comments made by former Chief Minister M K Stalin during a valedictory event at the Periyar Arivulagam and Science Centre. Stalin criticised the administration, questioning if an astrologer decides the Chief Minister's clothing, office location, and the application of 'pottu'.

Wilson responded to the 'astrology government' remarks by accusing the DMK of hypocrisy and double standards. He stated that the administration does not have such standards and that they are clean and have no need to cover anything up.
