Asaduddin Owaisi uses humorous quip to respond to BJP remark on Rahul Gandhi
The AIMIM chief referred to himself as being devoted to his wife following the BJP's use of a specific label for the Congress leader.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi responded to the BJP's use of the term 'Anti-India Paglu' for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by making a joke about his own domestic life, according to India Today.
When questioned about the remark directed at Gandhi, Owaisi described himself as 'Biwi Paglu'. He suggested that being devoted to one's wife is a way to ensure a tranquil existence.
Owaisi stated that he has a wife and children and advised others that following his example regarding family could lead to a peaceful life. He added that people should not speak to him in such a manner.
The comment relates to a speech Owaisi previously delivered at a rally in Uttar Pradesh in October. In that address, he spoke about the importance of keeping one's wife happy.
The AIMIM leader had shared a clip of that Uttar Pradesh speech on Instagram, which included commentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
The exchange occurs during a period of political disagreement between the BJP and other opposition figures regarding the labels used for Gandhi.
